Jason Adams

Sensei 4th Dan

 

Sensei Jason began his martial arts training in October of 1988 in Indiana.  In 1995, he began training with Mr. Jackson Sr., 7th Dan at Jackson's Karate Institute.  Sensei Jason was promoted to his 1st degree Black Belt, Shodan in 1998.  While training at Jackson's Karate Institute, Sensei Jason began attending annual seminars in Shorin-ryu Karate and in 2001 decided to begin training in Shorin-ryu.  In 2003, he fully transitioned to Shorin-ryu Karate.  Sensei Jason served in the US Air Force from 1999 to 2007, during which time he trained military members in martial arts and defensive tactics.

 

In Sept 2008, Sensei Jason opened Goldsboro Okinawa Karatedo Dojo, which is a member of the Okinawa Karatedo Shorinryu Ryukyukan Karate Kobudo Federation under Hanshi Kudan Koei Nohara in Okinawa, Japan.  Sensei Jason is also an AAU Karate National Referee.  In 2016, Sensei Jason completed the book Can't Never Could, Lesson: Confidence, which Sempai Hannah (Illustrator) and him worked on together for several years.  The book was then published and is now available.

Anne Adams

Sensei 3rd Dan

 

Sensei Anne began her martial arts training in March of 1998 in Indiana, where she met her future husband Sensei Jason at Jackson's Karate Institute.  In 2000, Sensei Jason and Sensei Anne were married and Sensei Anne relocated to Montana with Sensei Jason.  In 2001, Sensei Anne was promoted to her 1st degree Black Belt, Shodan.  In 2005, Sensei Anne began training in Shorin-ryu Karate and was promoted to her 1st degree Black Belt in 2007.  In 2011, she was promoted to 2nd degree Black Belt, Nidan by Hanshi Kudan Koei Nohara.  Sensei Anne is also a fully accredited North Carolina Teacher, teaching at Rosewood Elementary School.

 

Sensei Anne is the Head Coach of our national competition team, Team GOKarate and an AAU Karate Technical Coach.  In November 2014, Sensei Anne was promoted to 3rd Dan by Hanshi Nohara in Dixon, California.

Hannah Adams

Sempai 1st Dan

 

Sempai Hannah began her Karate training under her father and mother, Sensei Jason and Sensei Anne.  Sempai Hannah trained with her father when she was three-years-old, but began her official training when Sensei Jason opened the Goldsboro Okinawa Karatedo Dojo at the Goldsboro YMCA.  She has trained with Hanshi Nohara and members of the Ryukyukan each year during Hanshi Nohara's annual visit to North Carolina.  Sempai Hannah has competed in AAU Karate since 2011 and won numerous Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals.

 

She was also selected as a member of the AAU/USA National Karate Team, and competed at the 2016 WUKF World Championships in Dublin, Ireland taking 4th Place in Kata after losing a tough 3rd Place tie breaker. In June 2017, Sempai Hannah attended the Ryukyukan Gasshuku in Okinawa, Japan and was promoted to Shodan by Hanshi Nohara and the Okinawa Karatedo Shorinryu Karate Kobudo Federation.  She also competed in the 25th All Ryukyus Full Contact Karate Tournament, taking 2nd in Kobudo and 3rd in Kata and Full Contact Kumite.

Kylee Adams

Sempai Jun-Shodan

 

Sempai Kylee began her Karate training under her father and mother, Sensei Jason and Sensei Anne.  Sempai Kylee began training in January 2011 at Goldsboro Okinawa Karatedo Dojo at the Goldsboro YMCA.  She has trained with Hanshi Nohara and members of the Ryukyukan each year during Hanshi Nohara's annual visit to North Carolina.

 

In August 2017, Sempai Kylee was promoted to Jun-Shodan by Hanshi Nohara and the Okinawa Karatedo Shorinryu Karate Kobudo Federation.  Sempai Kylee has won Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals at the AAU Karate Nationals, AAU Junior Olympics, and AAU State and Regional tournaments.  She has also competed in Semi-Knockdown (Jissen Kumite) division at Ryukyukan Tournaments in North Carolina and California.
